Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

Picture
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a system where a community of individuals (shareholders) pledge to support a farm so that both the farmers and the shareholders share in the benefits and risks of food production.

Shareholders of Old Tree Farm pledge in advance to cover part of the anticipated costs of farm operations and farmer salaries. In return, shareholders receive their share of our farm’s bounty throughout the growing season. Shareholders have a real sense of connection to the land because they are supporting a local farm business and get to know the person growing their food, THEIR farmer.

Participating in Old Tree Farm's CSA is the BEST way to support the work and mission of the farm. Instead of just supporting us at the farmers market now and then, you are committing to partner with us for the entire growing season. And Old Tree Farm is equally committed to supplying you with the freshest organically-grown produce possible all season long.
Our 2020 CSA is now SOLD OUT! If you'd like to be added to our waiting list, please fill out the form below in the payment section. We will contact you if a share becomes available this year and as soon as shares are available in 2021!

How It Works

Picture
What You Get
  • 20 weeks of fresh vegetables
  • Monday evening pickups
  • Enough produce for 2-4 adults
  • Option to purchase farm fresh eggs
  • Friday notification on Facebook of what will be in the share on Monday
  • Weekly list of what's in the share and ideas on how to use it
  • Cooking demos at Omaha pickup site with samples
  • Produce grown on land using only organic growing methods
Donation Share
A priority for Old Tree Farm is that as many people as possible have reliable access to the healthiest, local food available.  Each year, shareholders have the opportunity to contribute to one of several donation shares.  Your donation will cover the share cost for a family lacking the means to afford it otherwise.  To show our commitment to this effort, Old Tree Farm will match all donations up to $490. Our goal in 2020 is to have one donation share at both pick up locations in Council Bluffs and Omaha.
Cooking Demos
Shareholders will have the opportunity to enjoy several cooking demos at the Omaha pick-up site throughout the season. The demos will feature produce in the share that week.  Samples will be given as you pick up your share as well as recipe cards to allow you to prepare the veggies at home.
